It gives our great pleasure to inform that a formal citizens group called “Banani Society” has been formed with the intention of enhancing the welfare of the residents and property owners of Banani and for developing stronger community bonds amongst them. The Society has been registered with the Register of Department of Social Welfare under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, N0-01096, 1973 at Dhaka. We are happy to inform that 896 Life Members, 3 Associate Members and 17 Donor Member have joined the Society as of April-2018.

 

For convenience of operation Banani has been divided into 12 Blocks. Block Committees under the leadership of the Block conveners have been given the responsibility to look after the programmers and activities in each Block to bring about a close-knit neighborhood concept that is essential for safe, clean and healthy living environment.

 

Since its inception the Society has implemented some of projects like putting up road signs and area maps, organizing various events, opening of a Recreation Centre at Society’s office premises.

 

Admission fee for Donor Members: –

Any one qualified to apply for a membership of the Society, when his/her application is approved by the Executive Committee and has paid admission fee and annual subscription of Taka 1,00,000.00 (one lac) on the date of application shall be called a Donor member. The fee shall be determined by the Executive Committee at the first instance and thereafter by the general body of the Society.

 

Admission fee for Life Members:–

Any one qualifying for General Membership of the Society may become a Life member by paying at a time Taka 10,000.00 (Taka ten thousand only). This amount may be changed or re-fixed by the general body of the Society from time to time.

 

Admission fee for Associate Members: –

Any person residing in Banani for at least one year may apply for membership under this category on his payment of the admission fees and annual dues as specified in the previous article. Such membership will remain valid subject to the rules of the Society for the period of his/her residence in Banani. Associate members shall not have any voting rights.
